Mixing II - Mill
As a Mixing I operator, you will be responsible for proficiency on the Mill within our Mixing department. You will report to the Production Supervisor and be part of the Production Team. This role is based in Beacon, New York.
A day in the life of a Mixing II - Mill can look like
- Start the mill and check water valves. Check and set nips for upcoming mix.
- Advise assistant of which material is to be dropped to allow person so proper stacking area may be prepared.
- When batch is dropped from boiling mixer, the operator cuts and folds material as needed and using sheet-off knives will take off batch.
- If cure is added on sheet-off mill, the operator blends and mixes according to proper milling procedures.
- When batch calls for flat-cool, operator will cut off slabs calender size and hand to assistant to be laid out on poly or spadones.
- Notify boiling operator and supervisor of all quality problems noted in blending of batch on mill, such as lumps, poor dispersion, or un-dispersed materials.
- Will be expected to train personnel as required for production.
- Follows safety practices and maintains good housekeeping.
- Monitors working conditions at all times to insure a safe work place. Checks all safety devices before work begins.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required by company policy for good health practices.
- Follows safety rules.
- Reports any unsafe conditions found in the plant.
- Fills out requisitions and report forms in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Performs all duties as assigned by manager, supervisor and/or group leader.
- Has the ability to take own initiative to fully utilize time.
