What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oncology Nurse (Oncology RN) position at AMN Healthcare?
Oncology RN's care for provides care for cancer patients and those at risk for getting the disease. They monitor physical conditions, prescribe medication, and administer chemotherapy and other treatments. Oncology RN’s also monitor patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems and diseases or are recovering from surgery. They handle large patient loads, juggle multiple patient populations, and adapt to the ever-changing face of nursing care. Although most Oncology RN’s work in the hospital setting, they can work in a variety of settings includes camps, clinics, schools, and ambulatory care centers.
Education/Requirements:
*Full Time Assignment (Minimum 13 weeks required) Recent Experience and Flexible Schedule Required.
Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
- OCN certification is often required
