Position Summary
Make an impact in Minnesota this summer and support our students. Plan for a season of change and join Summer Impact Corps!
As a Youth Learning and Enrichment Fellow, you will support a local school or nonprofit’s academic and enrichment programs. You’ll lead summer learning activities designed to strengthen students’ reading and math skills while also completing a leadership development program.
We are currently recruiting for summer 2024. This is an AmeriCorps member position with Summer Impact Corps, and your commitment will be up to 40 hours per week beginning in June. Join a movement dedicated to leadership through service and get things done for Minnesota!
How You’ll Take Action
- Assist with summer learning and enrichment programs.
- Foster strong and encouraging relationships with youth participants.
- Support family engagement activities.
- Promote the social, emotional and mental health well-being of youth participants.
- Commit to continuous improvement through training and professional development.
- Share your experience with the wider community as a Summer Impact Corps ambassador.

It Starts with a Passion
Our members come from all walks of life. Anyone can become a Summer Youth Learning and Enrichment Fellow as long as they have a passion to make a difference — and meet the following minimum qualifications.
By the time they begin their service, our members are:
- Dependable with a good history of attendance.
- Able to understand and follow instructions.
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases and software use, and videoconferencing.
- 17 years of age or older by two weeks prior to your start date.
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.*
- Able to successfully complete a background check.
*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve in our programs at this time. DACA applicants may be eligible for Americorps VISTA programs. For more information, click here.

Youth Language and Enrichment Fellows come from all walks of life. The most important qualification is a passion to take action for your community — and meet the following minimum qualifications.
By the time they begin their service, our members are:
- Dependable with a good history of attendance
- Able to understand and follow instructions
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), conducting internet searches, navigating online resources, and utilizing other software like databases, email and video conferencing
- 17 years of age or older by two weeks prior to your start date
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States*
- Able to successfully complete a background check
*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.
Compensation & Perks Package
While you’re making a difference, you’ll receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks! As an AmeriCorps program we have both federally provided benefits and program specific benefits.
Federal Benefits include:
- Up to $1459.26 in Education Award
- Segal AmeriCorps Education Award* which can be used to pay tuition or repay qualified student loans. Individuals 55 at the start of their service term may gift their award to a family member. Click Here for more information.
- Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment.
- Time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Program Specific Benefits by hours commitment per week:
35 Hours
- $1100.00 stipend paid every two weeks.
- Individual health insurance — monthly premium 100% covered.
- Child care assistance — based on family size and income.
