The Manufacturing Cost Accountant, under the general supervision of the Controller, provides financial support to the Finance and Accounting business unit by monitoring and validating account information through Plex Financials, Excel, etc.
The Manufacturing Cost Accountant will perform a variety of accounting activities with limited supervision. Duties may include preparing and analyzing financial statements and management reports, completing complex reconciliations, and performing various month-end close tasks. Inventory valuation and cost standards will primarily be the responsibility of the Manufacturing Cost Accountant.
Requirements:
Develop, analyze and maintain cost standards
Prepare variance analysis for inventory, manufacturing cost and standard cost variances
Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly and quarterly gross margins
Oversee inventory accuracy, E&O, valuation and LCM
Assist with tracking capital projects
Assist with development, preparation and distribution of KPI metrics
Prepare month-end journal entries and other closing activities
Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
Manage the respective sections of the company’s financial statements
Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce costs, and maximize profit
Proactively analyze variances and communicate issues and opportunities to management
Participate in profitability analysis regarding quoting and costing
Work with manufacturing to conduct physical inventory audits, investigating variances as they arise and adjusting inventories as necessary
Manage the day-to-day financial and data analysis for cost and manufacturing within the business, working with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to drive efficiencies in production and purchasing
Qualifications:
5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing cost accountant role
In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations
Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data
Strong financial analysis skills
Knowledge and experience in SOX
Experienced with complex data analysis functions
Deep knowledge of the manufacturing business and accounting standards
Excellent attention to detail
Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
Collaborative and team-oriented, but also self-motivated
Strong MS Office skills

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
