Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing engineering deliverables including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project designs, Bill of Materials (BOM) development, equipment specifications, and construction requirements for high voltage projects. The Project Manager is accountable for ensuring adherence to Ampirical’s Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Check (QC) guidelines and reviews the work of peers and Engineers/Sub-Contractors to ensure timely project delivery and quality.

Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or Construction Management Degree.
- In lieu of a degree, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience in Utility Design, Utility experience, and/or Utility Project Management
- 5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer focused on Substation, Protection & Controls (P&C), and/or Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Line projects
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills for cost and schedule reporting (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Advanced organizational and collaboration skills to manage multiple complex T&D projects with a focus on safety, cost, schedule, scope, and quality
- Superior interpersonal skills to operate within a matrixed environment
- Outstanding leadership skills to build and motivate matrixed project teams
- Exceptional communication skills to interface with internal & external stakeholders, reviewing project updates with management and customers
- Demonstrated knowledge of Utility Engineering practices with an emphasis on Transmission and Substation design
- Critical path method scheduling; work breakdown structure
- Utility accounting practices; economic analysis
- Company policies, rules, and regulations
- Construction methods; contract administration; equipment specifications
- Property rights; local, state, and federal permitting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the full life cycle of the project (development, presentation, execution, and changes), including safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk for multi-discipline Engineering projects. Manage projects to ensure project deliverables are met, completed on-time, and within the established cost constraints.
- Project plans will also include consideration for safety, environment, land use, regulation, communication, procurement, reliability, quality, and risk.
- Lead project team of internal staff, external subcontractors, and clients, providing concise communication to the stakeholders and functional group members.
- Manage development of project proposals, bid preparation, project schedules, bill of materials, etc.
- Work with customers and stakeholders to develop and evaluate project alternatives.
- Responsible for negotiation, execution, and administration of agreements with customers, suppliers, service providers, and contractor resources.
- Measures and communicates project performance to customers and stakeholders. Manage changes to the project plan.
- Review and approve drawings and material lists developed by designers.
- Develop project estimates and schedules, evaluate design options and criteria for technical merit, and conduct field visits to verify routing conditions and parameters.
- Review drawings for manufacturers and use pertinent information in the production of design drawings.
- Travel to client sites/field/vendor facilities as needed.
- Perform quality reviews of engineering work for both internal assets/sub-contractors on assigned projects.
- Facilitate delivery of project close-out, including final acceptance of project deliverables, transfer of ownership, status of project id, project accounting audit and true-up, and final project report.
