The Sr. Director, Financial Reporting directly responsible for oversight and management of the monthly, quarterly and annual external reporting needs of the Company as a public filer, the executive internal reporting requirements of the parent company; judgmental reserves, including but not limited to malpractice, self-insurance health IBNR, worker’s comp; and research and implementation of complex technical accounting matters.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and review all external monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, forms, statements, and disclosures, including reports to joint venture partners, consolidated financial statements, as well as other ad hoc reports and presentations as needed for internal and external use in timely manner
- Responsible for assessing additional reporting requirements and implementing reporting requirements, including but not limited to dashboards and consolidated bridges
- Review executive financial statements prepared for internal management and ensures completeness, and accuracy.
- Responsible for the compilation, explanation of high-level commentary and the consolidated bridges for the financial results used to present to the company’s executives
- Responsible for the completion of a quarterly balance sheet review to explain variances to various metrics.
- Responsible for working with our various actuaries for the analysis and recording of complex judgmental reserves, including but not limited to malpractice insurance, health IBNR and worker’s comp.
- Responsible for overseeing the research of technical accounting matters and providing recommended conclusions to management along with implementation guidelines.
- Responsible for the preparation of the entity’s cash flow statement and required documentation
- Ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretations, prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner, and provide recommendations for implementation
- Provide technical guidance on new acquisitions regarding the impact to our consolidation; specifically, in light of ASC 810: Consolidations
- Partners with accounting team members to support and review period closes
- Partners with others in the department and across the entity as needed in order to work on special or ad hoc projects.
- Works with others in the organization to ensure the reporting tool supports our internal reporting requirements and works with the various disciplines to develop the appropriate reports needed.
- Recommend and implement process improvements in areas of responsibility
- Manage special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:
- Accounting software; PC; Windows based spreadsheet/word processing package.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in public accounting and / or accounting industry experience. Masters preferred.
- 4 years with a Big 4 accounting firm in the audit practice, with heavy exposure to SEC financial reporting required Excellent knowledge of US GAAP combined with the ability to research and propose on Company positions on complex accounting issues preferred
- CPA required
- Healthcare experience preferred
