What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at AMTB?
Accountabilities:
- Safely and efficiently pilot a counterbalanced fork life to move, load and unload materials in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Conduct daily inspection of the forklift ensuring any safety concerns are reported promptly before operating the vehicle.
- Manage pallets throughout the plant ensuring appropriate set up and packaging for shipment.
- Diligently problem solve to ensure minimal material handling and ensure machines are supplied to run a peek capacities.
- Independently and proactively empty scrap bins throughout the facility.
- Follow all material handling policies and procedures ensuring material is stored efficiently to support production activities.
- Assist with program changeovers providing assistance where necessary.
- Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
- Ensure QMS conforms to the requirements identified in IATF 16949 and AMTB Process Map.
- Fulfill all responsibilities as identified in the Employee Handbook.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required:
Hold a valid Fork lift license with no major accidents on record.
Certified or previous training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods would be an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to prioritize work
