Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm | Weekend and emergency on-call hours as needed
The opportunity.
As the Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the Star® Roses and Plants greenhouse. If you have experience maintaining plumbing, irrigation, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems; operating heavy equipment; and assisting with emergency repairs, we hope you consider applying! Responsibilities You Can Expect.
Work environment.
Much of your day will be spent working in our greenhouse as well as outside in our trialing fields. This means you’ll be standing and walking for long periods of time and may be exposed to temperature extremes, humidity, various weather conditions, and toxic material. You should have the ability to consistently lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity required to operate heavy equipment is required for the function of this position.
Travel Requirements.
(0–10%) Occasional regional or local travel to look for equipment, machinery, tools, and supplies, as well as to attend company sponsored events and trade shows.

Responsibilities You Can Expect.
- Collaborate with management to promote and maintain a safe workplace by executing all facility projects in accordance with legal guidelines, such as OSHA.
- Perform repairs on plumbing, irrigation, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems of the PA greenhouse facility and field sites following the direction of manager.
- Operate, diagnose, and repair various types of heavy equipment, such as front-end loaders, forklifts, and tractors.
- Assist field crew with equipment setup.
- Develop working knowledge of Argus environmental control system.
- Respond to emergency repair calls and support as-needed weekend assignments, including those outside of regular working hours.
- Support various departments with facilities repair duties.
- Participate on the emergency weather team.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

You have this.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a facilities technician role or similar position. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in agriculture facility maintenance and those with a technical certification.
- Ability to operate various types of equipment and machinery such as forklifts, front-end loaders, and boilers.
- Physical strength sufficient to lift 40–50 lbs. and to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet company’s driving record requirements.
