Overview
Amyx is seeking to hire a Construction Subcontract Administrator (SA) (Professional III) to support our National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) project in Golden, CO.
Responsibilities
In this role, the Construction SA (Professional III) will join the Facilities and Site Services Team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of all services in support of the NREL site and facilities. From maintenance to construction to landscaping services to snow removal, this specialized team is responsible for administering agreements that are required in maintaining, retrofitting, and expanding the NREL campus. Acquisition Services considers the Subcontract Administrators (SAs) on this team to be highly specialized, understanding the complexities of and compliance with federal labor acts, the high risk-high demand nature of construction projects at all scales and sizes and hands-on post award administration efforts necessary and unique to subcontracts in this field. Subcontract Administrators on this team are typically mid-level to senior-level resources with a concentrated training and experience specific to government or pseudo-government construction contracting, differentiating between ‘Davis-Bacon Act’ and ‘Service Contract Act’ activities, strong negotiation skills and possibly some project management experience.
Qualifications
Additionally, the Construction SA (Professional III) should have a basic understanding of:• Financial analysis and business math skills.• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with attention to detail and planning.• Ability to work in a changing and fast paced team-oriented environment, ability to interpret and discuss technical information with others as well as analyze and provide solutions to less complex contractual issues.• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.• Davis-Bacon Act and Related Act experience.• At least 2 years of construction contracting experience, preferably with a federal entity.• Understanding of basic design principals and the various construction contracting vehicles.
Desired education & experience:• 5 years with BS Degree, or• 3 years with MS Degree, or• Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Facilities & Site Services Construction SA (Professional III) Qualifications: Basic knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to business support functions. Complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the business support activities, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
