The Business Development Research (BDR) Coordinator works closely with the Marketing & Business Development’s team of research professionals to provide a high level of support for firm's legal and business research function. This role utilizes internal and external information sources to track new opportunities, organize and maintain data in team databases, and collaborate with team members to provide research support for individual consultants, practice groups, and the firm. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, shows thoughtfulness and creativity in finding and synthesizing information, and is effective at both self-directed work and collaborative efforts.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Supports business generation tracking, including updating court dockets, identifying case details, and maintaining records in our Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Assists with our client litigation alert process, including reviewing court dockets, formatting contact lists, and identifying lists for auditing.
  • Assists with data population and maintenance of team databases, including the SharePoint site.
  • Under the guidance of research colleagues, provides marketing-related expert, case, and competitor research using internal and external tools and resources.
  • Collaborates on various marketing-related efforts, including providing research support for events and speaking engagements and coordinating with colleagues across the team and throughout the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience. Prior business or legal research experience is a plus.
  • Interest in legal issues and in the current litigation environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to organize, plan, and work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and be flexible in response to shifting demands.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability are critical.
  • Must have solid analytical and critical reasoning skills.
  • Research experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) is required.
  • Familiarity with additional tools such as project management/tracking software, CRM systems, and other databases is a plus.
