FTP Specialist

Analytica is seeking a remote  File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Specialist to  support data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will be  responsible for facilitating secure and efficient file transfers between internal and external systems using FTP protocols. You will oversee the process of transmitting, receiving, and managing files to ensure accuracy, security, and timely delivery according to organizational requirements. This role demands technical expertise in FTP, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills to collaborate with various teams and clients.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

1. File Transfer Management: 

• Execute and manage file transfers using FTP protocols, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data transmission. 
• Monitor file transfer queues, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transfer failures or interruptions promptly. 
• Implement and maintain automated file transfer processes to streamline operations. 

2. Security and Compliance: 

•  Uphold security protocols and encryption standards to safeguard sensitive information during file transfers. 
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to data protection and privacy. 

3. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: 

•  Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients regarding FTP file transfer procedures and configurations. 
• Collaborate with IT teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting file transfer processes. 

4. Documentation and Reporting: 

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of file transfer processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. 
• Generate reports on file transfer activities, performance metrics, and any incidents for review and analysis. 

5. Continuous Improvement: 

• Identify opportunities to optimize file transfer procedures and enhance system performance. 
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in FTP file transfer protocols. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree  
• Proven experience (3-5 years) working with FTP protocols and file transfer tools (e.g., FileZilla, WinSCP, SecureFX). 
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and data encryption techniques. 
• Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues related to FTP and networking. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams and clients. 
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
• Certifications in network security or related fields (e.g., CompTIA Security , Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP) a plus.
