POSITION SUMMARY :

This position is responsible for managing Food item listsfor cruise lines : sourcing monitoring usage and controllinginventory levels in the warehouse monitoring shortages onboard andfollow up with corrective actions ordering receivingetc..

IMPORTANT : Resumes must specifyexperience in food purchasing resumes that do not include anyprevious experience in food purchasing will not be considered forevaluation

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Evaluation and selectionof potential domestic and global suppliers for all fooditems
• Annual usage for food items based onhistory menus and instructions from Culinary team
• With Sourcing Dept. on Preparing and Sending RFQs andanalyzing received prices to take advantage of leveragingusage.

Developing relations with suppliers and negotiating thebest possible cost with them.

Sourcingadditional food items or special requests for additional items asper instructions from Culinary team and communicating availabilityand prices for these items in timely manner

Analyzing warehouse stock for all Food items forreplenishment including placing orders. Keeping Culinary team andpurchasing agents informed of inventory status monitoring itemswith short shelf life and establishing depletion plans

Processing invoices for inventory orders and authorizingpayments based on contractual agreements with suppliers ormanufacturers.

Working with inventory managementto ensure all deliveries are fulfilled and reporting any missing orbackordered items.

Updating Culinary Operationson availability issues and price changes and working with the teamon finding solutions and substitutions

Vendorperformance evaluation for availability pricing and service basedon reports from warehouse staff and vessels reports

Reviewing Quality Reports provided by vessels and work oncorrective actions with suppliers and the Culinary teamonboard

Reviewing Discrepancy reports providedby vessels and work on finding solutions for allshortages

Maintaining Items in the system fordescription unit of measures activation and deactivation

Providing reports and analysis as needed to the Culinaryteam

JOBREQUIREMENTS :

Preferably Collegeeducation.
