Anchor Talent has partnered with a Texas based Engineering firm that is looking to hire a Benefits Specialist . This role is responsible for everything related to benefit administration: records maintenance, enrollments, changes, terminations, invoice reconciliations, compliance, benefits onboarding, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, COVID, and leave administration.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Primary contact for benefit provider and any 3rd-party administrators
- Liaise between company and insurance brokers.
- Manage all transfers of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and all plan administration.
- Asses and make recommendations for internal process improvement
- Document administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations: timeliness, reporting and associated fees
- Oversee all benefits processing: enrollments, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, death claims, and assist fiduciary with 401k issues as requested.
- Maintain employee group benefits database and ensure timely updates of employee payroll deduction records.
- Partner with accounting to ensure payment of fees, payroll deductions, and premiums. Monitor and analyze statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives and broker.
- Distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support, as needed.
- Oversee and manage employee leave (STD/LTD, FMLA, COVID, etc.) and the company wellness program(s).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or equivalent, with prior employee benefits administration experience.
- Experience with ADP and other HRIS systems are highly preferred.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in self-funded plans is a plus.
- Knowledge of all pertinent and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security, and DOL requirements.
