Job Posting for Medical Biller at Ancient City Medical Billing Services
Medical Biller - responsible for claim submission, posting of insurance and patient payments, and account follow up
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Prepare and submit medical claims that are coded appropriately. Review encounters for any errors and take appropriate action.
- Review payer denied claims and take appropriate corrective action accurately and timely
- Follow up on unpaid claims
- Work to decrease A/R
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD 10, and rejection codes
- Working knowledge of payer websites for eligibility verification, claim status inquiries, and remittance advise
- Post patient and insurance payments and process necessary adjustments
- Review, validate, update and correct, if necessary, demographic and insurance information on specific claims and on patient accounts.
- Communicate with coworkers, management, and providers regarding any billing problems that arise.
- Keep complete accurate and up to date documentation on all accounts
- Filing, scanning, prepare outgoing mail
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented, organized and able to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
- Experience in Medware/Kareo preferred
- Knowledge and experience working with EMR’s
- Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment with good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must maintain a positive and professional attitude
Salary is based on qualifications and past experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
