What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at ANCO?
Overview:
Operating a variety of equipment and machinery to assist with the installation of Underground Utilities. Equipment to include but not limited to Locators, Mini Excavators, Skid Loaders, Hydrovacs, Tampers, & Jack Hammers.

Job Duties:
- Drive equipment and job materials to the site and stage as needed.
- Assist with the installation of safety barriers, traffic and pedestrian control at the jobsite.
- Read utility locates and locate private lines when needed.
- Operate equipment needed to expose existing utilities along installation paths.
- Installation of underground conduit, cable and vaults by operating trenching, plowing, excavation &/or directional boring machinery.
- Clean, monitor fluid levels, conduct visual inspections and perform proper minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Light repair and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Comply with safety procedures while driving and performing work at the job site.
Qualifications:
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Experience running machinery.
- Ability to read site drawings and utility maps.
- Basic knowledge and ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to travel
- Ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Lift up to 75 pounds
