Job Description
Primary Responsibility
Responsible for establishing and coordinating priorities within the local manufacturing areas in order to meet daily and weekly production commitments. Responsible for the communication of commitments status to the company at large. Schedules, plans and coordinates the complete production cycle. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules and capacity requirements. Provides input to management, reschedules, and/or interfaces with program management, production, and engineering managers to reschedule in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
Major Job Duties
- Establishes and communicates priorities to each manufacturing area daily.
- Reviews status of production commitments by using automated WIP tracking system.
- Attends various planning meetings to facilitate and coordinate the needs of the entire company in relation to the weekly manufacturing commitments.
- Reviews the status of daily and weekly manufacturing commitments with the supervisors of the production areas.
- Creates various reports which provide the status of all daily and weekly manufacturing commitments.
- Coordinates work activities through Production Supervisor/Manager.
- When applicable, serves as primary point of contact for communication to and from off-site manufacturing facilities.
- Attends customer team meetings to enhance communication between function groups and production.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in planning/coordinating/scheduling production operations. A background in labor and capacity planning is preferred.
- Typically requires 2 – 4 years of related experience.
- SMT & THT soldering environment experience desirable.
