The Role
As a State and Local Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing services such as research on state unclaimed property matters, annual compliance outsourcing, audit defense, voluntary disclosures, risk assessments and policy and procedure enhancements. To be successful you will need to demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship skills.
As a specialist in your role, you will work directly with clients and lead the tax engagement team. This is a dynamic opportunity to be part of a growing team and take on new challenges.
The Requirements
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Economics, Masters in Taxation or LL.M. is a plus;
- CPA, JD, or similar Unclaimed Property advanced certification or degree required;
- Minimum of five years experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend;
- History of successful project completion and ability to clearly communicate key issues and roles with team members;
- MS Excel based computations and models including statistical sampling related to areas noted above;
- Demonstrated proficiency in written documentation of unclaimed property issues and analysis (e.g., history of successful involvement with drafting of technical memoranda, Voluntary Disclosure Program Reports, etc.);
- Leadership, organizational, and project management skills;
- Communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;
- Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment; and
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
