The Role
Senior Managers with our State & Local Tax (SALT) practice oversee and complete tax projects, provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance for a variety of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to venture backed startups.
Senior Managers can expect to:
- Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals, present in webinars, etc.);
- Collaborate with Federal Tax Compliance Groups to ensure a comprehensive multi-jurisdictional tax strategy;
- Review state and local income tax returns;
- Provide tax controversy audit support;
- Lead consulting engagements and identify client solutions;
- Conduct research to remain current with legislative changes.
- Review memoranda and additional client deliverables.
- Prepare and review Nexus Studies.
- Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
The Requirements
- 6 years relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 5 years of Income Tax Experience.
- Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree; Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree (Preferred).
- Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (i.e. CPA or JD);
- Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; and
- Proficient use of technology.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Southern California, the expected salary range for this role is $154,250 to $235,800; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
