Job Overview
The Assistant Equipment / Truck Maintenance Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance department regarding all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment at various job sites. Working directly for and closely with the Fleet Manager, the Assistant Maintenance Manager will assist in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring optimal performance of machinery.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
· Develop, implement, and maintain a cost analysis program as part of continued process improvement measures.
· Support the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs to ensure the regular inspection and upkeep of all equipment.
· Continue to cultivate positive vendor and supplier relationships.
· Investigate and diagnose equipment malfunctions, coordinating with maintenance teams to implement timely and effective solutions.
· Work closely with mechanics, supervisors, and other relevant teams to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring a seamless workflow.
· Utilize data and analytics to identify trends, predict potential equipment failures, and recommend proactive measures.
· Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
· Assist in providing training to maintenance staff on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
· Assist in managing the equipment maintenance budget, optimizing resources to achieve cost-effective maintenance solutions.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all equipment maintenance activities.
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in equipment maintenance, with a focus on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Technical school experience in heavy equipment repair, diesel technology, and or diagnostics strongly preferred.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to improve equipment reliability.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Ability to multi-task.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
· Basic computer skills, including experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
· Experience with computerized maintenance management systems preferred.
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· Must pass drug and alcohol screening and background check.
· Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
