Position Overview The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing processes and procedures meant to improve quality throughout the assigned line of business. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all aspects of the group Quality Management System (QMS) program, including rolling out to facilities, training on the reporting tools and procedures, and ensuring sustainability through the auditing process Accurately complete data records and report observations concerning ingredients process, product quality, personnel safety and environmental quality Understanding of and experience with the requirements of the ISO 9001 2015 Standard Experience in Internal & External auditing. (Customer Quality Audits) Maintain a thorough understanding of data and reported information related to this position, and demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret the information to formulate recommendations and troubleshoot quality and/or production issues Provide leadership to quality inspectors to ensure accurate, effective, and timely completion of quality records, sample collection, and reports Utilize statistical methods and root cause problem solving in analyzing quality issues and quality standards, including performing capability studies on processes and equipment Assist with resolution of customer complaints or field failures Support operations in troubleshooting quality issues Support continuous improvement efforts with the DMAIC process, participating in Kaizen events, and participating in the 5S and quality audit process What is expected of you and others at this level Intermediate knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills. Solves a range of straightforward problems Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction Minimum Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree required 2-5 years’ relevant experience required Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred Physical Requirements and Working Environment Must be able to sit/stand for an extended period of time Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 100 feet Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures Working conditions could include dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
