District Courier (Part-Time 3 hours Per Day, Some Flexibility Possible)
Qualifications: District Courier must:
Job Goal: Collect, transport, and deliver mail, copy paper, packages, and other materials within USD 385. Collect from stores and deliver to school buildings items purchased from local vendors.
Performance Responsibilities
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy as stated in the Classified Handbook.
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications: District Courier must:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the position.
- Have a valid State of Kansas Driver’s License.
- Possesses a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer service.
- Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by the Supervisor.
- Ability to work unsupervised and a member of a team.
- Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards and on time requirements.
- Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.
- Meet all District safety requirements.
- Be able to work a 15 hour workweek. Overtime is sometimes available.
- Be able to work in any and all weather, temperatures, and lighting conditions under which the job must be performed.

Performance Responsibilities
- Operate district owned vehicles safely in various weather conditions.
- Travel to and from district facilities collecting and delivering mail, copy paper, and other materials daily.
- Operate a forklift.
- Operate a moving dolly.
- Adhere closely to an established daily schedule.
- Assist with maintenance of the district copy paper inventory.
- Assist with maintenance of the district light bulb supply inventory.
- Maintain an orderly and organized warehouse.
- Remove snow/ice from parking lots and sidewalks as needed.
- Complete work orders as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Manage job requirements with physical mobility to move from place to place (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis), operate a forklift, operate a moving dolly, operate handheld snow removal equipment as needed.
- Must work in and around water, dirt, dust, fumes and odors.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round in a variety of temperatures.
- Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
