Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to edit and proofread various ministry publications in a timely and efficient manner and according to the AWM style, brand, and/or standard. This entails checking for accuracy in grammar, spelling, references, and other pertinent information. Based on the applicant’s skills and department needs, this position may also require some writing.
Essential Duties:
- Proofread and edit ministry publications Projects include newsletters, postcards, magazine articles, study guides, and other publications as assigned. Grammar, spelling, pertinent. information, scripture references, and other aspects of projects would need to be checked for accuracy, according to AWM style. Writing would need to be reviewed and edited to ensure it meets the AWM brand and standard.
- Preparing projects for print This may include formatting a document to fit on letterhead or checking the formatting of a laid-out project to ensure it meets the AWM standard.
- Occasional writing of ministry publications This would include writing any of the projects mentioned in the first bullet point according to the AWM brand and standard.
- Various other duties may be assigned by the Creative Services Manager and/or Copy Team Supervisor.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent comprehension of the English language
- Excellent knowledge of spelling, grammar, and mechanics
- Ability to operate a Windows-based computer and work with Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word, and SharePoint
- Strong ability to work within Microsoft Word using various formatting options, tracked changes, comments, and more
- Ability to navigate the Internet and perform online research
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must sign the Statement of Faith
- Familiarity with the teachings of Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College
- Minimum of Associate’s Degree in journalism or writing
- Charis Bible College graduate is preferred
- Must pass all required checks
Experience:
- 1 year previous proofreading or editing experience is required
- Writing experience preferred
- Compensation is commensurate with experience
