Plant Controller

Job Summary: The site accounting controller oversees the accounting and financial operations at the plant location. Total plant location sales are approximately $10M via three entities. This will involve the accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of financial data. Responsibilities will include managing transactional accounting, inventory management and cost analysis. This position will also be responsible for the overall transactional system information flow and internal controls, including the proper cut-off of shipping/receiving during month-end closing processes. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the monthly accounting closing of the accounting books within the ERP system. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work and training of fellow team members on internal controls will be required.

Responsibilities:

• A heavy emphasis will be placed on the need for inventory management control, manufacturing routings, shipping & receiving and overall internal controls.
• Proper month-end, quarter-end, and yearly close processes
• Analyze financial information to recommend and implement efficient resource utilization strategies, providing strategic recommendations to operational leadership.
• Review manufacturing costs, overhead, and general administrative expenses, providing recommendations to support cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses, including variance and cost analysis.
• Lead physical inventory counts and reconciliation processes.
• Perform any other tasks as required.

This position will report to the corporate controller located in Michigan with dotted line reports to the to the local general plant manager.

Skills/Education Required:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting

· Strong Microsoft Excel skills

· Overall use of Microsoft Suite of Products (i.e. Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word)

· Experience with ERP Systems for manufacturing and accounting

· Familiarity with Epicor ERP Products is a plus.

· Plant Controller experience required with 5 Years in a similar/equivalent role
