Cash Posting Assistant

Job Summary:
Responsible for the accurate and timely entry and reconciliation of charge batches, third-party and patient payments, and daily and monthly closing.

Essential Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent education is required. At least one year of payment posting experience. General knowledge of reading explanations of benefits; insurance payer guidelines; HIPAA Adjustment Reason Codes; ICD-9, CPT, and HCPS coding. Keyboarding skills, word processing, and spreadsheets are required. Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid procedures and medical terminology. Good mathematical ability. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Good organizational skills. Ability to perform reconciliation functions. Detail oriented. Work experience operating data processing equipment is preferred. Familiarity with Meditech Hospital Information System preferred. Familiarity with computer applications is required. Must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications.
