Wikipedian and Outreach Coordinator

ANGARAI seeks a motivated and passionate Wikipedian and Outreach Coordinator to join our team in Beltsville, MD, US. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the organization’s Wikipedia/Wikimedia activities to enhance our online presence and outreach capabilities. You will collaborate with the team to build and maintain content on Wikipedia, ensuring accuracy and relevance. You will also develop, implement, and monitor outreach programs to engage with external stakeholders and promote our mission. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the online encyclopedia, excellent stakeholder management, and communication skills, and a commitment to helping individuals access quality information.

• Monitor and review all projects, including holding meetings, tracking progress, and providing regular updates to the lead.
• Provide Wikipedian-in-Residence services for clients focused on Law partners and content and projects – including a focus on equity issues in agriculture.
• Train and support the Law partners and others in creating and enhancing Wikipedia articles on agriculture, food safety, and agricultural law.
• Review and evaluate current Law websites and lead website modernization, update, and food law webpages on a regular basis and create new subject-specific topic pages related to law and equity topics.
• Support the broad goals of the Law partnership through basic reference work and the creation of pathfinders or user guides.
• Lead regular meetings to monitor and evaluate all law projects and events.
• Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met.

• Proven experience and success with managing outreach campaigns.
• US work authorization.
• Proven track record of research and data analysis.
• Deep understanding of Wikipedia conventions and policies.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on tight deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Proven knowledge of digital marketing and journalism principles.
• Experience in graphic design and HTML/CSS.
• Ability to build relationships, manage and engage a variety of audiences.
• Detailed orientated with strong organizational skills.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
