Nursing/Clinical Instructor Job Description - On-site position
The Nursing Instructor is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of the educational goals and objectives of the Nursing Program. These responsibilities require leadership in both academic and workforce areas and include meeting student retention goals; participating in educational planning; evaluating student performance; motivating and advising students, and generating program reports as needed. The Nursing Instructor will prepare and deliver lectures to student nurses on topics such as pharmacology, mental health nursing, and community health care practices. Prepare course materials such as homework assignments, handouts, quizzes, and exams. The nurse instructor will teach, supervise, evaluate, and grade nursing students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments utilizing an approved curriculum, textbooks, and visual aids. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues. Plan, evaluate, and revise course content, course materials, and methods of instruction. Compile, administer, and grade examinations. Maintain student attendance records and grades using a grading program. Demonstrated communication skills necessary to explain complex medical and scientific concepts in a manner that’s easy to understand and provide written feedback on student assignments. Creative problem-solving ability to address issues that arise due to student performance or overcome obstacles to delivering an established curriculum.

Daytime hours; 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday - Thursday
