Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Deputy's for our Grosvenor operation in Moranbah, QLD to play a key role in ensuring the safety of all people onsite and to comply with mining legislation and Grosvenor Mine Health and safety management systems.
Reporting to the Compliance Superintendent, you will have an intimate knowledge and understanding of the underground coal mining environment, communication systems, emergency response and site safety requirements, and will be able to develop collaborative working relationships across Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors and ERZ Controllers and will;
- Be accountable for driving, leading, and coaching the crews to ensure the site operational plans are implemented and delivered whilst maintaining a focus on safety.
- Contribute to the ongoing management of a reliable short-term mine plan and continually seek to identify areas for improvement to ensure operational excellence is achieved.
- Identify process improvements and ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders across the business.
Qualifications
- Possess QLD Deputy Certificate of Competency (Deputy Diploma of Underground Coal Mine Management) OR Mutual Recognition Deputy Certificate of Competency
- Hold current S1, S2, S3 & G2
- Demonstrated prior experience as an ERZ Controller (desirable)
