Job Description
You will effectively manage hospital-based nursing services through ensuring that all standards, policies and procedures are communicated and implemented for the effective operation of the hospital as well as coordinating applicable quality management services to monitor and evaluate adherence to the documents
More of your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that hospital management protocols are developed and implemented that facilitates effective cost management and quality care
- Overseeing and managing hospital management protocols are developed and implemented that facilitates effective cost management and quality care and supplies
- Overseeing hospital assets management protocols are developed and implemented that facilitates effective cost management and quality care
- Monitoring and recording the data required for evaluating the quality indicators, measure and take actions required to ensure the best quality service is rendered to patients
- Managing and monitoring complaints to maintain quality care
- Facilitating and monitoring emergency mock drills and form part of the emergency management team in auditing emergency care outcomes
- Assisting in labour planning and management of the duty roster
- Coordinating all external services provided to the hospital and ensure adherence to contractual agreements as well as managing internal and external audits
- Ensuring Thungela Hospital complies with the required Department of Health audits and participate in the Department of Health and other stakeholders’ hospital audits
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders while ensuring staff development requirements are met
- Planning, managing and controlling the budget and identifying opportunities of improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (NQF Level 7)
- SANC registration as a professional nurse
Experience and Knowledge
- Valid Driver’s licence
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional nurse, preferably in a management position
