Job OverviewAnimal Farm Family LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be critical in managing the financial integrity of our rapidly expanding e-commerce brands, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and supporting our leadership team with key insights. This is a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Develop and maintain financial schedules, particularly for:
  • Leases
  • Inventory reserves
  • Bad debt reserves
  • Sales and gross margin validation
  • Monitoring short-term vs. long-term liabilities
  • Amortization and depreciation schedules
• Perform and oversee key balance sheet reconciliations, including areas such as:
  • Unit cost
  • Inventory valuation
  • Sales recognition
  • Cost of sales
• Audit and reconcile sales tax across all companies.
• Assist with both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory reporting and internal control requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.
• Partner with other departments (e.g., operations, sales) to ensure that financial reporting aligns with business operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with retail or e-commerce experience.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Acumatica).
• Strong understanding of GAAP, with a focus on maintaining schedules and auditing financial statements.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Preferred experience in unit cost, inventory valuation, sales recognition, cost of sales, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Compensation: 

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year/year depending on experience. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
