Seeking team oriented and reliable individuals with veterinary experience for a full time veterinary assistant position.

Our facility offers: routine small animal medicine, laser surgery, dentistry, digital and dental radiography, boarding, and much more. We have an outgoing, friendly, and highly trained staff and we are looking for a team player. We utilize our veterinary assistants to their fullest abilities. We practice high quality medicine and believe in providing excellent client education and patient care.
Main job description includes: answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing and chart management, educating clients on annual preventative care, recommending appropriate annual testing, having basic veterinary knowledge of common disease processes, and practicing proper animal restraint of dogs, cats, rabbits and other furry pocket pets. This position also includes drawing blood, performing laboratory procedures such as fecal flotation and urinalysis, cleaning of the hospital, and performing kennel duties. Candidates must have excellent communication skills both with clients and team members and must be able to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude. We are looking for a hard worker, detail oriented, with a "what can I do to help" attitude. Must be proficient in MS Word, Windows, and able to type 20-30 wpm or better.
Qualified candidates must be available to work possible shifts of weekday morning, afternoons, and evening shifts. Some weekends and holidays are required and will be done on a rotating schedule. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand for long periods, have good manual dexterity, and the ability to observe both auditory and visual differences in animal appearance and behavior. Candidate must be willing and able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening .
Salary: Competitive and Negotiable -- dependent upon experience level.
