Substitute Printer
Purpose Statement
The role of printer is generally responsible for providing support to the printing process with specific responsibilities for completing requests in accordance with work orders specifications, performing routine and minor maintenance on high-speed-copiers and other printing equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of reproduction equipment, delivering completed materials within established timelines and working collaboratively with the printing team, operations team and building teams. Substitutes are required to perform all of the duties of the staff member that they are subbing for.

Daily Rate of Pay: $14.65/hour
Reports To: Print Shop Manager
Wage/Hour Status: Temporary/Seasonal
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read basic operating instructions
- Demonstrates a reasonable degree of computer proficiency
Essential Functions
- Maintains and operates high-volume copiers and uses a variety of print shop equipment including binding, punching, cutting, stitching, drilling, padding, and folding machine.
- Maintains and operates a computer to process jobs, utilizing Microsoft Office, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat and other similar programs.
- Prepare completed jobs for packaging and distribution.
- Operates multiple copiers ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Performs test prints to ensure accuracy.
- Performs frequent quality checks during the print process.
- Monitors activities in and around work areas for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety.
- Informs site personnel for the purpose of providing information and direction regarding activities, safety issues and/or proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Working Environment
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform position functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services.
