Who We Are Looking For:
At ANM, The Lead Technician will work as a member of a project team and is primarily responsible for enhancing over-all job site productivity and ensuring high-quality work. The Lead Technician will work with multiple aspects of the cable installation process including OSP, ISP, rack, stack, patch, pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Telecommunication Room build-out, cable terminations, labeling, and grounding. In addition this employee may be assigned to lead a team of 3-5 members safely and productively on projects, with the goal of completing tasks with a high degree of quality and efficiency, while practicing professionalism for optimal job performance.
What You Will Do As an Lead Cabling Technician :

- Installation of structured cabling systems including all aspects of the installation process
- Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
- Properly sets up a variety of testers
- Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required
- Terminates, labels, tests and troubleshoots structure cabling installations
- Proactively lead teams of 3-5 Technicians and Installers to complete project tasks
- Adequately train Technicians and Installers to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of their positions.
- Assist in developing Technicians to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of a Lead Technician
- Proactively oversee and lead job site organization and basic housekeeping maintenance.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Maintain satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements
- Excel in technical tasks such as testing and troubleshooting
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- One or both BICSI installer 2 INSTC/INSTF certification Preferred
- Intrusion alarm service experience
- Basic computer skills with ability to check e-mails using Outlook and send in time reports using Microsoft Excel
- Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs
- Drivers license and dependable transportation
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial construction and project management including the installation of standard cabling technologies, rack infrastructure and managing large scale build projects including the ability to communicate, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Network Infrastructure: Siemon, Panduit, Ortronics, Corning, Belden, Essex, Berk-Tek, CPI,
- Video Surveillance Systems: Hanwha, Axis, Genetec, Verkada, Bosch
- Access Control Systems: Identiv, Isonas, Verkada
- Successful completion of previous telecommunication projects.
- Knowledge of general building codes and BICSI Standards.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Hands on experience with fiber and copper installations/projects
- Hands on experience with security devices for access control, intrusion detection and CCTV installations/projects
- Hands on experience with DAS/Wireless projects
- Hands on experience with AV projects
- Obtain company approved (manufacturer) certifications
- Obtain BICSI Installer either Level 1 or Level 2 certification
Working Conditions:
The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may also be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Travel:
Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance. Must be able to travel overnight, as needed.
