What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator-Decision Support position at AnMed?
The Decision Support Coordinator will play a key role in gathering and compiling data in Axiom from various sources necessary for providing high-level reporting and analytics for key financial, quality improvement, patient safety and service initiatives. This position is responsible for the daily and weekly loading, maintenance, auditing, and refinement of the data in the Axiom Cost/Decision Support System. This role reports to the Director of Cost and Reimbursement and works with a wide customer base from unit managers to department leadership and clinical operations. Strong communication skills are necessary since this position works closely with AVPs, Directors, and their staff who are an integral part of maintaining and refining the cost system. This position must interact and communicate effectively with Axiom consultants, Axiom support team and internal teams. The Axiom decision support system is used to enhance internal decision making. Profit and Loss, resource consumption, utilization and treatment efficiency analysis are just some of the ways data from this system is used in the finance and clinical setting. Axiom is also used for data research and analysis related to Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, other government filings and audits.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting/Finance preferred) and/or three or more years of relevant experience. Experience in cost and decision support environment preferred, but not required. Proficiency with databases, Decision Support Systems, Epic HB and PB, as well Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
