SUMMARY: The Network/Systems Technician is responsible for assisting with the management of all aspects of the organization's technology infrastructure. This position works side-by-side with the administrative and technology team to optimize services, maintain digital security, and troubleshoot problems as they arise. In addition, the Network/Systems Technician must provide excellent customer service, the ability to communicate effectively, and effective problem-solving skills. QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, MIS, or related field, required.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a related field. -Demonstrated network management in educational setting with multiple platforms.-Proficient in both MAC and PC administration.-Knowledge of remote learning methods.-Be proficient in organizational skills and a flexible personality necessary. -Must have good attention to detail.-Must be able to multi-task and manage priorities.-Must have demonstrated the ability to work effectively as part of a team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users for multiple platforms.-Support and maintain the school's computer systems, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and their peripherals.-Administer, manage, and configure file/print, e-mail, web servers, routers, firewalls, and desktop management.-Support and maintain the school's Cisco, Meraki, HP, Ubiquiti networking environment (Access Points, Switches).-Creation/maintenance/editing of user accounts (i.e., permissions, security, group policies) assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining their configurations within standards.-Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade all hardware, software, and equipment while ensuring optimal performance and coordinate assistance from third parties when necessary.-Manage system administration and coordination with outside contractors.-Support the school's VoIP system.-Support and maintain all school and classroom AV, such as Interactive boards, document cameras, and sound systems.-Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems and software being used to provide high levels of support to users. -Recommend new network architectures to improve performance, storage and reliability.-Assess software that will aide in the administration of the network.-Ensure all updates are applied to all servers and maintained.-Perform software upgrades and OS migration as necessary.-Support of backup solutions such as Synology Active Backup.-Monitor and report licenses on applications to ensure compliance.-Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.-Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.-Assist with hardware inventory, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support-Support day-to-day Information Technology activities and projects-Review daily helpdesk items with the Systems Administrator and complete tasks as assigned.-Communicate with the Technology Department Team to accomplish department goals and objectives and attend department meetings.-Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information so they can service the member in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.-Support educators, students, and administrative staff with technology usage.
