Position Summary
As a key member of Anoplate’s Management Team, responsible for planning, developing, and directing quality assurance policies, programs and initiatives. Establish, oversee and lead the Quality Assurance team to ensure that products meet customer specifications and are consistent with the high-quality standards of the Company. Responsible to present critical and strategic overview of key performance indicators including both current and future goals and milestones established in support of corporate vision, mission and strategic plan. Assure the requirements of the quality management system are maintained and premium brand reputation retained based on high standard of customer experience. Lead the internal audit team and maintain the audit schedule. Provide management oversight of Quality Engineers, Quality Advisor, Quality Assurance inspectors (QAI) and Quality Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following
- Ensure total product integrity by providing strategic leadership in establishing a common quality vision, culture, structure, management systems and processes.
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the activities of the Quality Assurance Department to assure they support quality objectives.
- Develop and maintain the Anoplate Quality Management System to assure compliance with ISO 9001 certification. Actively lead the Management Review and participate in setting annual company objectives.
- Manage growth and development of Quality Engineers in Supervisory role of the QAI team.
- Interface with Engineering and Plant Managers to assure the activities related to new products objectives are met.
- Ensures clear and timely communication with support personnel and senior management with regards to quality issues and corrective actions.
- Responsible for the quality reporting, corrective/preventive actions, internal auditing system and customer complaint tracking.
- Responsible for coordinating and hosting customer audits, quality related customer visits, and maintaining customer approvals.
- Provide leadership, guidance, development and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives. Works with employees to set goals and define development needs. Deliver performance reviews per company guidelines.
- Lead Quality Engineers in use of statistical techniques and problem-solving methods to measure, achieve, and continuously improve customer loyalty metrics, including quality containment and internal rework.
- Analyze quality data and report results in terms of impact to the plant objectives and continuous improvement. Ensure the quality data is utilized by the Level 3 QE’s to proactively initiate and lead continuous improvement projects as appropriate.
- Responsible to ensure that adequate resources are assigned and trained to perform internal audits, communicate findings / results to the MT, and evaluate the effectiveness of the corrective actions. Ensure audits are performed to the schedule.
- Management Representative for ISO 9001 certification, reports and addresses audit findings, corrective action statistics, risks and opportunities. Assist Planning & Compliance Manager with NADCAP audits to ensure continued compliance to AC7104 & AC7108 standards.
- Decision Making – Will be expected to make decisions related to product quality and compliance based on knowledge of plating specification requirements, customer quality requirements and general process knowledge with minimal input from staff.
- Assist accounting with resolution of open credits. Periodically review costs associated with quality testing, calibration, etc... Develops QA budget in conjunction with VP. Monitor budget on a monthly basis.
Requirements
- 4 year degree in Engineering, Quality, Chemistry or related field.
- 10 years’ experience in quality assurance and 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with minimum of 5yrs experience in a lead Quality Management role.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills to lead and work with operational teams, internal and external stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in forming and leading cross functional teams.
- Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Superior project management and time management skills.
- Self -motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
- Lean Understanding (as a guide for implementing improvements) and demonstrated ability to create flow diagrams and process maps.
- Blueprint Reading skills.
- Reading and interpretations skills - ability to interpret technical documentation & testing specifications.
- Technical writing skills.
