Sign Technician

ANS Signs, Inc. in Adel, GA is looking to hire a sign technician for our Tallahasee, FL operation. Those with experience in construction, electrical work, fabrication, or similar experience are encouraged to apply. Sign industry experience is not required for application, but is preferred. Eligible candidates must be willing to work in a bucket truck/lift at elevations up to 130ft as needed. A valid Class B CDL driver's license is strongly desired, but not required. The company is willing to assist the right candidate in obtaining a CDL and any other desired certifications.

Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under supervision of the Field Services Manager, sign technicians install new signs and service existing signs efficiently and within budget. Pay rate is determined by experience level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs maintenance and repair to existing signs. Work may include electrical troubleshooting/repair, welding/fabrication, network troubleshooting, etc. as needed
• Prepares and erects new signs of various types & heights
• Transports sign materials
• Travels to field site
• Completes paperwork for installations and service work
• Reviews blueprints and prepares materials and supplies for sign installation
• Follows all safety guidelines and regulations
• Obtains completed work sign-off from customers
• Operate heavy machinery as trained
• Perform work functions at elevations up to 130ft as needed

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans, stocks, and maintains equipment
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School Diploma or GED and/or one or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in construction including welding, operation of heavy equipment, crane and forklift operation, power tools, electrical experience, and reading blueprints/work orders, or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

• Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
• Ability to operate computer, telephone, and other basic office equipment
• Excellent basic math skills, used primarily in taking measurements
• Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude and the highest level of integrity
• Excellent communication skills
• Maintain regular and timely attendance
• Valid Class B CDL License is desired but not required
