SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:
ANSER is seeking a Senior Computer Scientist for support to the Engineering & Systems Integration for Joint Satellite Communications for the United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM). DEVCOM's mission is to leverage cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum effects, autonomy, robotics, advanced energetics, and synthetic biology to give Soldiers the ability to see, sense, decide and act faster than their adversaries. The Senior Computer Scientist will support a Division responsible for a wide range of Satellite communications (SATCOM) programs in support of new and fielded Army telecommunications systems. This position researches new capabilities in SATCOM and wireless technologies for the battlefield, as well as the application of military and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) capabilities. These programs support the active Army, primarily Program Executive Office (PEO) Command Control Communication Tactical (C3T), PEO Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S). The Senior Computer Scientist will:
- have strong analytical problem solving, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills, be willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks.
- be responsible for providing senior level software design and analysis support to the SD.
- have a relevant background in SATCOM technologies and an extensive background and education in algorithmic development and software design maintaining an awareness of industry best practices and available tools for software development.
- have excellent written and oral communication skills to collaborate across C5ISR Center, Army Research Lab, Academia, and Industry on groundbreaking defensive cyber theories and work in the C5ISR Center laboratories to bring those technologies into the applied and advanced technology realm.
- Must be willing to travel to conferences and workshops, to meet / present technical findings to large audiences and sponsors, and to assist with technical writing.
- will require ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum education of Master's Degree
- Minimum degree requirement of Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline is required
- Minimum years of experience of 10 years. Additional Relevant Experience may be substituted for education requirement
- Must have at a minimum three (3) years' experience with Applied Research in Advanced Defensive Cyber DoD cybersecurity efforts
- Experience designing and developing software, building out networks for the software to run on, integrating commercial or open-source software into government R&D projects, or conducting rigorous cyber testing of cybersecurity R&D software/systems for technologies to be integrated into current or future tactical networks
- Experience in developing technologies for the Army tactical networks and the associated limitations of such networks
- Professionally recognized cybersecurity certifications per DoDD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M / IAT-II Security
- Active Secret DoD Secret Clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Army C5ISR Program technologies, systems, and programs
- Military or government intelligence experience especially in or with the United States Army.
- DoD acquisition experience and/or DAU Level III certification
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project/Visio
- Active Top Secret or higher DoD Secret Clearance
