SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior R&D Engineer to work in Atlanta, GA

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems.
• Will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.
• Specific job duties include, participate in planning, architecture, and research;
• perform complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research;
• employ best practices and help to maintain through technical reviews and mentoring;
• perform complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned product; research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions;
• research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues;
• work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions;
• work independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities; and
• responsible for managing interns or co-ops.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computational Science and Engineering, Computer Graphics, Web Development, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related occupation.

• Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computational Science and Engineering, Computer Graphics, Web Development, or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in a related position.
• Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
  • Experience with software design and development;
  • Experience with Web client application programming in Typescript, CSS, and D3;
  • Experience with Enterprise modular application development in React and Angular 2 ;
  • Experience with REST API development in Python, NodeJS, and Java;
  • Experience with IDEs including VSCode or PyCharm;
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase and querying APIs including GraphQL; and
  • Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Additional work location information: May permit telecommuting from home office within commuting distance to Atlanta, GA.
