What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Designer position at Antech Systems, Inc.?
Responsibilities include:
- Make user-centered designs that align with project goals and business requirements.
- Create and maintain branded templates and assets for use by subject matter experts, analysts, developers, and engineers.
- Work in tandem with subject matter experts and technical writers to develop and update Navy maintenance software user guides and training materials.
- Learn to break down highly technical information for infographics, briefs, educational materials, and government proposals.
- Foster positive working relationships with teammates and established vendors, stakeholders, and customers.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Fine Arts, Communications or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience working as a Graphic Designer or relevant certifications.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of visual design concepts and technical skills. Please provide a link to your portfolio.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and effective critical thinking skills.
- Capable of following complex technical directions, both written and verbal.
- Able to work collaboratively on a multi-generational team.
- Organized and reliable.
- Willing to present work to stakeholders (i.e., Team Leads, Department Heads, and Senior Leadership).
Nice to Have
- Previous work experience in customer service, the DoD or Military.
- Additional knowledge in any of the following: InDesign, After Effects, video editing software, Media Encoder, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Jira/Confluence, HTML/CSS
- Understanding of both digital, print, and video file specifications and differences.
- Experience in evaluating hierarchy and organization of information.
- An interest in copywriting, technical writing, or instructional writing.
This position requires applicants to reside in or near the Hampton Roads, VA area to support occasional office work.
