Job Summary
We are seeking a Program/Product Line Manager who is a key member of the Operations team representing the customer needs to the internal organization. To be successful, the Product Line Manager collaborates with Business Administration, Business Development, Finance, Quality, and the internal technical and manufacturing teams, as well as manage and direct subcontractors, support vendors and service providers to meet the product and program deliverables.
As a leader of product line programs, you will employ program management best practices and tools, representing the organization in internal status reviews, participating in creating the long- term vision and strategy for the market, maintains relationships and networks with other companies, and representing the company to the customer by providing program status, building trust, and positioning the company for follow-on business.
The Program/Product Line Manager will drive programs within a product line to develop products and programs in accordance with the roadmap, evaluate customer needs, providing product and program oversight, ensuring contract deliverables are met, customer satisfaction is strong, and overhead and other costs are minimized.

- Develop and maintain the Product Line roadmap.
- Update the roadmap to support new business opportunities, pursuits, technology strategies and meet customers’ changing needs.
- Evaluation of the opportunities includes working with business development to assess strategic fit, create opportunity size, product pricing and investment strategies.
- Prepare detailed program plans prior to contract execution.
- Track schedule and budget/profit performance.
- Ensure program reporting and deliverable requirements are met.
- Interface with internal management, operations, business administration and business development teams.
- Represent the company to external customers, suppliers, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
- Formulate detailed schedules including dates, durations, precedents, resources, etc.
- Track task completion and overall % of technical completion.
- Create work breakdown structures budgets for contracted program. Coordinate prime and subcontractor relationships, efforts, schedules, and budgets.
- Identify new and follow-on funding opportunities and support business development activities of those opportunities. Work with business development and technical personnel to develop and co-author proposals and white papers. Generate cost proposals for government and DoD prime funding opportunities.
- Provide strong leadership to meet deliverables, maintain strong customer satisfaction and overhead and minimize costs. Execute to maintain the long-term vision and ‘keep the program sold’. Lead technical team and program review meetings.
- Provide excellent personnel leadership with emphasis on team building and demonstrated interpersonal skills to enable cross-functional teams. Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to direct and indirect reports.
- Manage program budgets, including staffing, internal/external resource support, tools, and other expenditures required for efficient execution.

Experience and Skills
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- 15 years of experience in the defense industry managing technical products or programs.
- A proven track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent defense industry products and/or programs from process and product design, development, and validation through roll-out and insertion.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Expertise in using project management software tools and experience utilizing ERP systems.
- Demonstrated scheduling, budgeting, and analytical skills with strong knowledge of contracting pricing principles.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, presentation, and customer interface skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple multi-disciplinary programs concurrently.
- Solid organizational skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented, enjoy teamwork and excel in a dynamic environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
Desired Experience:
- Existing DoD Security Clearance.
- Program Management Experience (PMP).
- Advanced Degree.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or related technical discipline
