The Internal Audit Manager coordinates and collaborates with Anthem leadership to independently assess high risk areas and engage in special projects within Anthem, one of America’s leading healthcare companies. The Internal Audit Manager leads an Internal Audit team to conduct a variety of Internal Audit reviews (e.g., operational, financial, compliance) in a dynamic and fast paced environment. This role is a great leadership opportunity to be a key decision maker, constantly learn and to showcase your critical thinking skills and creativity in a fun and flexible team environment.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Managing all aspects of the engagement (risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, and reporting), which includes providing direction and leadership to assigned audit staff.
- Assessing risk and developing appropriate audit procedures to evaluate the area of review.
- Reviewing audit staff deliverables for sufficiency and accuracy.
- Demonstrating effective project management skills to ensure audits are performed efficiently and are completed timely with high quality results.
- Develops written reports on the results of audits, including control gaps identified and collaborates with management to determine appropriate corrective action.
- Provides valuable insights to business clients and leadership to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
- Continues to coordinate with management to perform timely finding follow-ups.
- Assists Internal Audit management in the development of the audit plan and status reporting to executives and other external parties.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Requires a BA/BS in accounting or finance and a minimum of 5 years directly related work experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading internal audits is preferred.
- CPA/CIA certification or candidate is preferred.
- Project management, process improvement, and quality oversight backgrounds are highly desired.
- Health insurance, healthcare delivery experience, and behavioral health experience are preferred.
- Ability to travel may be required, up to 10%.
