Aon Reinsurance is looking for an Associate Director for our Growth Analytics Practice
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Reinsurance Analytics team focused on developing bespoke growth solutions for insurance clients. The qualified candidate will have a background at an insurance company with experience in product management for property lines of business. The position can be based out of our Chicago office.
Your Impact as an Associate Director
Primary role is to support clients as requested by supervisor or brokers, across virtually any client project or internal research assignment. Associate Directors are expected to develop proficiencies in completing standard analyses, while also taking part in more advanced analyses as needed. You will become familiar with Aon’s tools and approach, contribute to our client’s development and present Aon’s solutions and services to our clients. Secondary role is to assist in various research and development efforts and industry trend studies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with colleagues (brokers, analytics and others) to identify and respond to client needs and develop additional opportunities related to small commercial product growth analytics.- Inventory and analyze various rate and form filings for property products like BOP, CMP, and HO.
- Review insurance company product offerings to identify underwriting improvements
- Create profitability analyses across multiple products, segments, and geographies
- Understand catastrophe model output and its use in rate filings, pricing, and underwriting guidelines.
- Analyze client and/or industry expense information, non-cat loss information, and profit/capital requirements to build a total cost of risk.
- Understand reinsurance contracts and products (terminology, terms and conditions)
- Prepare client-ready presentations to communicate analysis results to brokers and clients
- Manage workflow proactively
- Take initiative on internal projects to improve processes, products or services
- Take ownership and responsibility for quality, accuracy and timely completion of analysis
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of experience in an analytically-centric environment- Experience at an insurance company in product management preferred
- Pre-ACAS if pursuing actuarial credentials
- Ability to work independently and in team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to identify and resolve problems, think creatively, strategically and analytically
- Strong ability to understand and perform mathematical and statistical calculations
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite of products (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- R, SQL, VBA coding abilities are a plus
- Supportive of Actuarial exams
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Degree required in the field of Actuarial, Math, Economics, Finance or related degree.
