As a Field Technician, you will serve as a front-line representative of AR and be a key member of a service-oriented team that:
- Resurfaces, refinishes and/or upgrades tubs, counters, and cabinets for commercial properties and residential homes throughout the Northern IL area.
- Educates customers regarding our services, promotes other AR services, and proposes solutions to customer problems.
- Positively represents the AR brand by efficiently completing assigned jobs while delivering a great customer experience.
Full time positions are now available in North and West Suburbs of Chicago area. Painting, fiberglass, automotive body work and HVLP experience is preferred but not required. Training is provided.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drives vehicle to work sites (periodic visits to office and warehouse are required) in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies.
- Works on a customer’s premises (residential homes, investment properties, apartment complexes, and universities), resurfacing, refinishing and upgrading tubs, counters, and cabinets.
- Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and beyond regular work hours, as required.
- Follows all company standard safety practices in the course of performing work activities.
- Maintains vehicle and other equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
- Communicates with dispatch/office for assistance, status on current job or new service requests.
- Consults with supervisor/lead and other technicians for advice and assistance as needed.
- Interacts with customers in a professional, courteous manner.
- Educates customers on the services provided.
- Completes work orders/paperwork in accordance with company standards.
- Cleans work area upon completion of job.
- Participates in company meetings and training as scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age.
- Valid state driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Own a reliable truck and have auto insurance.
- Able to work required shifts and overtime (if necessary).
- Spanish proficiency desirable in some locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school degree or GED equivalent.
- Work experience in a comparable field such as construction trade, mechanics, semi-skilled. manufacturing, or other related hands-on trade role. Painting, fiberglass, automotive body work and HVLP experience a plus.
- Direct customer service experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to carry and use tools and equipment.
- Ability to complete documentation, and inspect, install, and repair materials and equipment.
- Ability to locate work sites.
- Ability to drive motor vehicle.
- Ability to communicate in person and by telephone.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds to lift, position, and carry equipment.
- Ability to tolerate temporary exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme, non-weather-related heat.
