Summary:
The Quality Assurance Nurse needs to have a strong nursing background with great assessment skills to provide the care needed to the residents.
Responsibilities:
Monitors Restorative department
Evaluates the quality of patient care.
Monitors compliance with current laws, process improvements, and implementation of clinical best practices.
Reviews and analyzes customer complaints.
May need to help train staff on new or improved clinical practices.
The position will set work schedules, delegate assignments, assign tasks and assist in evaluating employee job performance when requested by the Director of Nursing.
QA Nurse will assist in setting goals and standards for the facility.
While on-call QA nurse will handle all supervisory duties for the unit delegated by the Director of Nursing, overseeing registered and licensed practical nurses, nursing aides, medical clerks and support staff.
Aide in supervision of the nursing department and dining rooms, as delegated.
Weekly wound measurements and documentation
Completing skill competencies
Monitoring weekly/monthly weights
Tracking immunizations
Promote the physical and emotional well-being of skilled nursing facility residents, ensuring a coordination of quality care, from pre-admission through discharge.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, resident representatives and members of the Interdisciplinary Team
Work in collaboration with the IDT to ensure accurate and timely completion of all Medicare documents in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with at least 2 years’ experience in LTC/SNF care.
One (1) year experience Preferred as a QA Nurse or Nurse Manager
Must follow State and Federal Regulations
Must have extensive clinical experience, prior administrative experience, and training in both nursing and management.
Must have strong communication skills, diplomacy and the ability to take leadership of any situation
Must be able to lead and direct employees.
Must have strong communications skills and able to talk with physicians, residents, families and outside entities.
Strong organizational skills and ability to review documentation to ensure proper care is provided to the residents you are responsible for.
