What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Assistant position at Apet Inc.?
Well established and growing company is looking for a Purchasing Assistant for its East Dundee facility. Strong candidates possess excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain relationships with our suppliers and have a willingness to learn our business.
Schedule would be Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Supportive role to the purchasing department.
- Assist in purchasing and managing inventory of various fish/small animals
- Work all facets of procurement to achieve established mark-up goal to include but not limited to shipping, handling, product cost, inventory management and managing shrink
- Maintain vendor relationships which are professional and as expected in every communication and transaction.
- Submit reports, invoices and information to other departments in timely fashion.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and passion for fish and small animals -Huge Plus!
- Compassion for our animals, customers, and employees
- Ability to consider and apply multiple variables
- 1-2 years of related experience
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including outlook
