Job Overview: The Research Associate will play an integral role in the biology team to help develop novel therapeutics that modulate cholesterol metabolism and transport.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing strategy and scientific approaches to understand and develop our small molecule discovery platform targeting cholesterol
  • Establishing in vitro assays to evaluate efficacy, dose response relationships, and characterizing molecules for potential therapeutic effects via techniques including cell culture, qPCR, transfection, transduction, cholesterol measurement, RNA expression analysis, and general molecular biology
  • Working closely with a team of biologists while providing critical feedback on the execution and results of experiments
  • Preparing, reviewing, and delivering high quality scientific presentations for internal and external teams
  • In a well-organized manner, documenting and analyzing scientific data using statistical methods and clearly communicating your results to the larger team
Primary Job Requirements:
  • B.S. or Master's degree scientist in cell or molecular biology, genetics, cell metabolism, or a closely related discipline plus at least 2 years of industry experience with a proven track record of scientific excellence and creativity
  • Extensive hands-on research laboratory experience is required, with preference to candidates with experience in cholesterol efflux and/or myeloid cell biology
  • Deep understanding and diverse experience with in vitro assay development to support lead discovery and target validation and optimization
  • Candidates with experience with a variety of cell culture techniques, cell/molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, and expertise in cholesterol efflux assays and myeloid cell models
