Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking a Sr. R&D Embedded Software Engineer to work onsite in Hazelwood, MO.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Design, Developing and debugging for electro-mechanical medical devices.
- Developing required documentation, design history files for the electro-mechanical devices.
- Supervising junior members of the team including contractors in developing those devices.
- Manage 3rd party contract development of medical devices.

- Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to a wide variety of projects.
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.
- Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models.
- Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope.
- Provides solutions which may set precedent.
- Independently determines method for completion of new projects.
- Receives guidance on overall project objectives.
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering.)
- 6 years related work experience preferred
- Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit.
- Software development in a real time operating system environment required
- Software development for mechatronic systems.
- Experienece with C, C , Python a must
- Experience working in a medical environment to the ISO 13485 standard highly preferred
- Knowledge of IEC 62304 - Medical Device Software Standard and the application of Risk Management per ISO 14971 desired
