Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced analyst to manage enterprise-wide digital technology assets, focusing on gathering contract and entitlement information to create entitlements in the Software Asset Management System. The role covers both SaaS and on-premises software solutions, requiring significant experience in Software Asset Management and the software lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in a large enterprise and strong technical collaboration skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Populate software asset data into the Flexera software asset tracking system, including procurement data, license data, EOL and EOS data, contract data, license assignments, and financial information.
- Review and analyze software application license agreements, contracts, and maintenance contracts to establish entitlements.
- Validate data between all systems of record and the Flexera SAM tool.
- Prepare and distribute pre-defined and ad-hoc reports; identify and recommend software for potential harvesting or replacement with lower-cost alternatives.
- Reconcile application deployment versus licensing entitlements to identify over and under licensing and utilization by product.
- Provide data insights for license agreement renewals, negotiation, and procurement decisions, including ROI and cost avoidance.
- Monitor and alert stakeholders to changes in license terms and conditions (T&Cs). Track software entitlement data related to projects and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
- Identify and report potential issues with Pacific Life's asset tracking tool, Flexera, and supporting systems. Develop and maintain Software Asset Management program and process documentation.
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience in software license management, with an associate's or bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with software tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, and Nexthink.
- Familiarity with application publishers including Alteryx, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Tableau, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, and Adobe.
- Solid understanding of IT Asset Management software management policies, procedures, and practices.
- Experience using SAM tools for software license reconciliation (Flexera One and ServiceNow) and manual data reconciliation.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and relationship skills for delivering a positive customer experience.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Experience with data analysis tools including Excel and Power BI.
- Familiarity with contract/agreement review and accurate interpretation.
- Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- IAITAM certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) and Certified Asset Manager Professional (CAMP) are preferred but not required.
Education and Training
- ITIL, COBIT, or IAITAM certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
