WISS Operator - Lexington, SC Apex Tool Group is currently looking for Operators within our WISS and H.K. Porter operations at our flagship facility in Lexington, SC. Under minimal supervision, the operator will be responsible for basic operation of machining equipment, and for the high-speed assembly of various tools. The incumbent will also be responsible for packaging the product for shipment. The operators will report to a Production Supervisor responsible for these departments. He or she will work closely with Team Leads, Machinists, and other operators in their daily work to ensure on-time delivery of parts and products to customers. This position will be hourly. The Build (Responsibilities) · Operate various machining equipment to produce components for assembly · Retrieve product components from storage bins or locations and place on production table · Assemble product components according to specification using power and hand tools · Use quality processes and checks to ensure product functionality and adherence to specification · Operate packaging equipment to place finished good on product card or in packaging · Maintain production log, recording hour-by-hour production rates for self and others · Promote 5S within the respective cell or area, cleaning equipment as needed · Other duties and responsibilities as needed to be successful in the role The Toolbox (Qualifications) · High School diploma or GED equivalent is required · Previous work experience in a machining or assembly environment is preferred · Must have a high level of hand and arm dexterity to assemble small components at rate · Must possess prolonged stamina due to the frequency and duration of operation and assembly · Ability to stand for duration of required shift, to include overtime on a daily or weekly basis · Ability to have a high level of attention to detail for extended periods of time · Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs and move in a full-range of motion · Ability to work in a team environment · Ability to work daily or weekly overtime, and alternate shifts as needed
