What You Will Do:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within a company. They are responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring that products are produced to meet safety & quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a key member of the operations management team and collaborates with various departments to improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team (Capital Expenditure – Operational Excellence - Programming – BOM/Routers) , providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
  2. Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production safety, quality & efficiency.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, design engineering, production, supply chain and quality assurance & others to develop and implement new products (NPI), equipment or processes.
  4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, six sigma and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  5. Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  6. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
  7. Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
  8. Develop and manage the manufacturing engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
  1. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
  2. Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Required Skills

  1. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals and objectives.
  2. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  3. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation.
  4. Proficiency in Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  5. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
  7. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
  8. Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO, ASME standards.
  9. Familiarity with welding & testing requirements and compliance in manufacturing operations.
  10. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  2. Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  3. Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean-Six Sigma manufacturing, the Toyota Production System  and project management, certifications preferred.
  4. Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment.
  5. Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
